A MAGICAL MASQUARADE!!!
A CIRCUS VARGAS MASQUARADE! In Santa Barbara, June 12-22, 2026 The circus is in town! My kids are delighted, as this is a yearly, must attend, tradition for years. Felix, my first born, was just 5 when we took him to his first circus performance. I also have tears in my eyes remembering the time we went with my father who passed 2 years ago; such a magical time. Founded in 1969, Circus Vargas is one of the world’s biggest traveling Circus still operating under a traditional big top tent. Every year, Circus Vargas ( www.CircusVargas.com ) picks up a particular theme that will resonate through the multiple acts of a rich and enchanting evening. This year this is a “masquerade”; which is a festive social event where attendees wear elaborate costumes and masks to conceal their identities. For the next two hours you will wear your favorite attire, and you will depart for a fantastic journey. And one cannot take a journey without a Ring Master. Let’s first salute my good friend Jonathan Lee Iverson and his divine voice leading us into the National anthem to start the night and gracing the hours by his majestic presence. This year we were delighted to discover several new acts. Liiana just took our breath away with mastering high voltage stunts like you have never seen before. The Meza Troupe took us on a nerve breaking high wire excellence. Still don’t understand how they manage not to fall. I remember The Faltyny’s family and their amazing skills at unicycle while juggling! Just mesmerizing. Of course, we had the “Globe of Death” extra-mad wild ride where 4 motorcycles riders dare to go crazy in a small globe. Truly, beautifully: insane! One act after another we were blown away by the amazing talents and the emotions rising within. Now owned and operated by seventh-generation circus performers Katya Arata Quiroga and Nelson Quiroga, the circus is known for its commitment to human artistry, family-friendly atmosphere, and new productions each year. We wish them all a safe journey across the U.S.A so they can keep entertaining legions of kids and their family. Circus Vargas is a MUST experience by the whole family and a tradition to keep going years after years. You should see how my boys remember every performance and how it makes this night so magic and special. I see you at the next Circus Vargas performance!
