Withoutabox, the leading, worldwide online-media company dedicated to advancing independent film and connecting artists with audiences, has promoted Fred Kramer to president and named Trina Wyatt chief operating officer, effective immediately. The announcement was made by David Straus, co-founder and CEO of Withoutabox.

In his new role, Kramer will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations of Withoutabox with an expanded role managing the company’s technology department, product sales and integrating its FilmFinders division. Wyatt, who officially joins Withoutabox after consulting with the company for the past several months, will work closely with Kramer on day-to-day operations and be responsible for Withoutabox’s finance, business development and marketing and publicity activities. Kramer and Wyatt will be based in Withoutabox’s Los Angeles headquarters.

Regarding the announcement, Straus said, “Fred has played an integral role here at Withoutabox since its launch, his contributions to our growth and success have been immeasurable. Trina, with her extensive experience taking independent organizations to the next level, has also been a key player in our recent success. Both Fred and Trina will spearhead developing the strategy and launch of future services Withoutabox intends to provide to the global independent community.”

With a diverse background in film and television spanning more than ten years, Kramer has been involved with Withoutabox since the company’s launch in 2000. He is largely responsible for building and fostering new relationships and partnerships for Withoutabox with film festivals all over the world and has been instrumental in the significant expansion of the company’s festival partners, as well as the worldwide growth of filmmaker members utilizing the service. Kramer met Withoutabox co-founders Straus and Joe Neulight ten years ago and with Straus, went on to produce several feature films. Prior to Withoutabox, Kramer held positions at Lifetime Television, DiNovi Pictures and Rogers & Cowan.

During her 15 year career, Wyatt has consistently championed independent film, having for six years served as COO of Tribeca Entertainment, where she was involved in the creation, development and launch of the Tribeca Film Festival. While there, she also chaired the First Look Film Series and created a film finishing fund in partnership with Eastman Kodak, as well as oversaw Tribeca’s new media initiatives and produced its new media conference, Converge at Tribeca. In addition, she managed Film Independent, the largest non-profit organization dedicated to independent film, where she oversaw its restructuring and re-branding, and was involved with its annual productions the Spirit Awards and the LA Film Festival. In addition to helping iFilm with its initial launch, she has several film producing credits.
