Winners Golden Calves, the Grand Prize of the Dutch Film 2007

Tonight, the Golden Calves, the Grand Prize of the Dutch Film 2007, were awarded during the Gala Dutch Film Gala. The presentation, hosted by Paul de Leeuw, was broadcast live on the Internet on www.filmfestival.nl. The ceremony was the conclusion of the 27th Netherlands Film Festival, which attracted 125,000 visitors.

 

The Golden Calves jury 2007 – consisting of André van Duren, Pieter Fleury, Ronald Giphart, Brigit Hillenius, Jannie Langbroek, Reinier Selen, Paula van der Oest (chairman)  – granted the Golden Calves in seventeen categories:

Best Sound, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Soundtrack, Best Photography, Best Short Film, Best Short Documentary, Best Long Documentary, Best TV Drama, Best Male Supporting Role, Best Female Supporting Role, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Direction, Best Long Feature Film and the Special Jury Award.

 

The Golden Calf for the KPN Audience Award was granted to the feature film which was appreciated most highly by festival visitors. The Golden Calf for the KPN Audience Award entails an extra cash prize of 25,000 Euro, to be spent on an online media campaign. 

 

The Dutch Film Critics Award was also presented tonight. This press prize is granted by the Circle of Dutch Film Journalists. This year, the jury consisted of Leo Bankersen, Paul van Es, Sven Gerrets, Oene Kummer and Clementine van Wijngaarden.

 

VPRO’s Cinema.nl Festival Journal will report on the ceremony at 22.30 tonight. On Monday 8 October at 21.30, the digital culture channel Cultura will broadcast the entire Gala. Interactieve TV by KPN offers the Gala on demand in the month of October.
