What IFFF? Kids Film Festival and Film Camp wraps

Seven individual students and four class entries numbered among film and screenplay winners, as the International Family Film Festival concluded its 12th annual What IFFF? Kids Film Festival and Film Camp.
An awards ceremony, held June 30, capped events of the festival and film camp, which began June 26 at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater in Hollywood. The Fest moved from its longtime home in Santa Clarita to the new site this year.
"We're all pleased to say that the new site was a booming success," said Chris Shoemaker, What IFFF Kids? executive director. "The move to Hollywood and the unique John Anson Ford theater site helped bolster the great energy and vitality of this long-running program. We congratulate all the winners and look forward to continued growth and success in years to come."
What IFFF? Kids aims to boost media literacy among young people ages 8-18, offering hands-on experience in filmmaking that empowers young filmmakers to skillfully craft and create their own stories.
"The program aims to helps youth to bridge generational and other divides, as they communicate through film to a larger audience," explained Dr. Suzanne Shoemaker, Fest director.
Information on next year's event will be available at www.iffilmfest.org.
