All 140 of the Victoria Independent Film & Video Festival are juried, and have been seen by many eyes before they make the festival’s screening list. Of the works accepted this year, several were selected to receive a special award at the End of Festival Bash held Sunday February 11 at The Reef Restaurant.

Hosted by Shaw TV’s David Lennam, Festival Director Kathy Kay took to the stage to announce the winners before an enthusiastic crowd of volunteers and film fans celebrating the successful conclusion of the 10-day event.

Audience Favourite: Air Guitar Nation by Alexandra Lipsitz.

CHUM TV Award for Best Canadian Feature: Fido by Andrew Currie

Best Documentary: Store by Cami Kidder

Best Short: A tie between HairLady by David Birdsell and Saddest Boy In The World by local filmmaker Jamie Travis.

Cineplex Entertainment Award for Best Short: Startle Pattern by Eric Patrick.

InVision Prize for Best Student: Skinheads by Michael Vass.
