TrentoFilmfestival of mountains highlights

The 55th TrentoFilmfestival of mountains, exploration and adventure will be held in Trento from 28 April to 6 May 2007 under the artistic direction of Maurizio Nichetti.
One of the significant changes in the 2007 Festival is that “MontagnaLibri”, the international review of Mountain Publications, will be open from 24 April onwards.
The Festival will open in the S. Chiara Auditorium on 28 April with an evening-event: the screening of Charlie Chaplin’s film The Gold Rush (1925), with the music composed by Chaplin for the film played by the Haydn Regional Orchestra of Trento and Bolzano conducted by Timothy Brock.
The TrentoFilmfestival will provide other emotions in the evenings that follow. The screenings of the films in competition from all over the world; meetings with mountaineering celebrities in which the guest of honour this year will be one of the most famous British mountaineers, Sir Chris Bonington, for the first time in Italy; the evening dedicated to the Yosemite Valley conducted by Alessandro Gogna; the Italian leg of the WC Bouldering 2007 – from 29 April to 1 May in Piazza Duomo; meetings with the film directors and many other personalities of the mountain world (also live on web); the 12th International Exhibition-Fair of Antiquarian Mountain Bookshops.
Documentaries and fiction films (short, medium and full-length films, telefilms and television reportages; films in 35 and 16 mm format or analogical and digital videos) on mountains, mountaineering, mountain environments, exploration, sport and sports adventure can be entered in the TrentoFilmfestival. Any existing digital standard can be used.
The deadlines for entering the 55th Festival are 31 January 2007 for films produced in 2005-2006 and 28 February 2007 for films produced in 2007.
The 2007 regulations are available and can be downloaded with the entry form on the Internet site of the TrentoFilmfestival (www.trentofestival.it) .
