Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

The treaty: a successful short on the circuit

THE TREATY was honored as the BEST SHORT FILM at the 2003 Midwest Entertainment Industry Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. The MEIC is the nation's FIRST non-profit entertainment industry conference. The conference is an annual convergence of national entertainment industry personnel representing a wide spectrum of companies and services within the entertainment industry, and artists from the worlds of film, music, game
development, and publishing.

THE TREATY also made its international debut at the Bahamas One World Film
Festival where it received the Vision In Excellence Award. The Fest showcased
films from LA to Australia and everywhere in between. THE TREATY Producer
Michael Misconi, Director Mike Horan, and EMMY Award-Winning Director of
Photography Thomas Mumme traveled to Nassau to participate in the inaugural event. In an interview, the trio told Indiewire.com, “It (was) a film festival for filmmakers, as we were able to spend a lot of time together and exchange thoughts and experiences.”

Lastly, THE TREATY showed at the Ohio Independent Film Festival in Cleveland.
The Ohio Independent Film Festival & Market is an annual event and the leading showcase in Ohio for international independent shorts and feature-length
films.

THE TREATY tells the story of Joe (Ryan Smith), a corporate underachiever who
discovers that his soul is owned by the Devil in an agreement between Heaven
and Hell. When the consequences of his actions come to light, Joe struggles
to find redemption. The 19-minute Super 16 mm film was shot entirely on
location in Gainesville, Florida with an all Florida crew and gear supplied by
Adrenaline Film Productions in Orlando.

THE TREATY has so far enjoyed a successful festival run, winning Best Film at
the Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival, an Award of Merit at New
York’s Domani Visionfest, Honorable Mention for Best Narrative at the Carolina Film & Video Festival, and as an Official Selection of the Ft. Lauderdale
International Film Festival, the Brouhaha Film and Video Showcase in Orlando, the Great Lakes Film Festival in Erie, Pennsylvania and the Da-Vinci Film and Video Festival in Corvallis, Oregon.
