The Stocholm festival jury of 2006

The Stockholm International Film Festival now presents the names of the five people who will decide which of the films in the Stockholm XVII Competition gets the honorary Bronze Horse award. This year’s jury is an international mix consisting of two directors, an actress, a producer and an artist.

The main task of the festival jury is to present the honorary Bronze Horse (at 16 lbs the world’s heaviest film award) to a film in the international competition section. The jury also gives out Aluminum Horses for best directorial debut, best screenwriting, best short film, best actor/actress and best cinematography to films in the competition section. This year’s jury is:

Christian Volckmann – French director whose feature debut, Renaissance (2006) is screened in this year’s Open Zone section.

Tine Grew Pfeiffer – Danish producer, frequently hired by director Christoffer Boe. Their film Offscreen is screened in this year’s Northern Lights section. Pfeiffer has previously worked on productions like Dogville (2003), The Idiots (1998) and Breaking the Waves (1996).

Måns Mårlind – one of the directors behind last year’s festival hit and Star! Audience Award winner – Swedish Storm (2005). The team Mårlind – Stein return to the Stockholm film festival 2006 with their mini-series Snapphanar, which is screened in the Northern Lights section.

Jockum Nordström – one of Sweden’s most successful contemporary artists. Nordström was elected Artist of the Year at the prestigious Armory Show in New York. His work has been displayed at galleries like the Swedish Museum of Modern Art and at MoMa in New York.

Maria Bonnevie – Swedish actress. Bonnevie has had major success during the past year as Julie in Miss Julie at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm.
