The Beverly Hills Festivals runs April 13 to 17 and will offer a series of 5 industry seminars

SEMINAR: Independent Film Financing & Distribution
A business and legal seminar for filmmakers that covers the development, financing and distribution of independent feature films. The panel will discuss various aspects of how to optimize the financing, sales and distribution of independent films.

Panelists:
Relani Belous (Vice-President, Business & Legal Affairs, Ventura Entertainment), Thomas Mai (Managing Partner/Sales Agent, Katapult Film Sales, LLC), Mychal Wilson (Partner, MindFusion Entertainment), Nancy Stein (2003 & 2005 BHFF Filmmaker) and Paul Battista (Attorney, MindFusion Law Corporation). Cinematography derives from an ancient Greek word which translates to writing with light and motion. This seminar features some of the world's most artful cinematographers discussing the evolution of the grammar of visual story-telling on mega-budget films, independent movies and telefilms. They will discuss and answer questions about the past present and future of their artform.

SEMINAR: THE RISE OF HYBRID CINEMATOGRAPHY

Concurrent advances in film production and digital intermediate postproduction technologies is adding a new dimension to the art and craft of visual storytelling. Cinematographers are extending their art and craft deep into postproduction with a new collaborator, the digital colorist. Some of the industry's most talented cinematographers will participate in a discussion and answer questions about this relatively new collaborative relationship and what it means to the future of filmmaking.

Panelists:
Participants include Robert Richardson, ASC, Kees Van Oostrum, ASC, Nancy Schreiber, Allen Daviau, ASC and Daryn Okada, ASC. Digital colorists participating in the discussion include Stefan Sonnenberg, Jill Bagdonvich, Steve Scott and Mike Sowa. Alternatives TBA. Moderated by Bob Fisher.
