The 11th Festival: A New Beginning! Women Multitudes! And Trans!
Since its inception in 1997, the annual IWFFIS has showcased extraordinary films made by and about women. The event has garnered wide-spread media coverage for being an important networking opportunity for women and one of the major international women’s film festivals. In addition to feature-length films, the IWFFIS will hold a competition for the best Asian short films and videos of the year.

The 11th IWFFIS will mark a New Beginning of her story as focusing on the critical issues facing women and exploring the diversity of new media. We start our new era to examine the possibility of Women Multitude – a new vision of a strong female community, free from segregation, isolation and victimization. At this 11th edition of the festival, we will Trans borders for women through more than 110 women-centric films from across the globe.

New Award for Feature Length Films!
IWFFIS offers a feature length film award to praise the promising works of women filmmakers and encourage their enthusiastic filmmaking. One cash award of USD 10,000 will be presented to the best feature-length film director who has made less than three feature films.

Programs
New Currents
New Currents focuses on the recently produced outstanding films by women directors. From 11th edition, the competition is newly established for the feature length films.
Queer Rainbow
Supporting sexual diversities, Queer Rainbow presents queer films made by women / LBT productions and individual women from around the world.
Girls on Film
Girls on Film is particularly for teenage women who produce and consume the media as the subject and introduces films by and about teenage women.
Asian Short Film & Video Competition
A competitive section for short films by Asian women directors aiming to discover and support emerging Asian women directors.

Special Programs
Mediascape
Introducing works of new media technologies by women artists, Mediascape aims to take down the wall between media and explores the possibilities of new feminist aesthetics.
Women’s Labour and Poverty
Women’s Labour and Poverty showcases films dealing with the problems of labour and poverty imposed on women under the system of neo-liberalism in the context of everyday life and aims to talk about the modern women’s reality.
On Aging
On Aging considers aging as the process of changing and aims to discuss about the issues on women's aging including poverty, disease, human right, and sexuality etc.
Open Cinema
Open Cinema introduces women’s films made by men directors.

Special Screenings
Documentary Ock Rang Award
The special screening of Documentary Ock Rang Awardee (Noted for its pre-support program for Korean women documentarist)
Media Workshop for Migrant Women
This Special Screening introduces videos made during the 3rd Media Workshop for Migrant Women.
