Stockholm International Film Festival Comes to an End

The 19th Edition of the Stockholm International Film Festival Successfully Comes to an End
The 19th edition of the Stockholm International Film Festival wrapped up on Sunday after 11 days and 125 000 visits during 2008. In addition, the festival is proud to announce that this year’s sponsors Telia and L’Oréal Paris have signed on as Main Sponsors for the 20th Anniversary of the festival next year.
Once again the Stockholm International Film Festival can boast with sold-out screenings, exciting seminars, parties, events and performances around Stockholm. Over 170 films from 40 countries were screened during the 11 days. 90 filmmakers and actors attended the festival and met the audience. 100 of the festival screenings were sold out.

The top ten films at the festival were: Australia, Changeling, W., The Brothers Bloom, Ashes of Time Redux, Transsiberian, The Argentine, Gomorra, Rachel Getting Married, Tokyo!, and Smart People.

The film festival would like to thank our supportive and enthusiastic audience for once again making the festival such a success! After a short break over the holidays the festival will kick start the year with its Junior Festival April 20-25. Count down for our 20th Anniversary has already begun and preparations for the 2009 festival are already well under way – we are adding another day to the festival offering our audience 12 full days of thought provoking and magical film from 18-29 November, 2009.
