St. Clair Bourne gets DVFF Documentarian Award

St. Clair Bourne to Receive DVFF Documentarian Award

Ossie Davis has been confirmed as award presenter at the 5th Director's View Film Festival taking place February 12-16 at locations throughout Fairfield County, CT.

On Monday, February 16, Ossie Davis will present the Director's View
Documentarian Award to St. Clair Bourne. Having produced, directed, and
written over 40 films during a period spanning 25 years, Bourne has explored
African life both in the United States and internationally. Standouts
include “The Making of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing,” "Half Past Autumn:
The Life and Works of Gordon Parks" (HBO) and "John Henrik Clarke: A Great
and Mighty Walk," a feature-length documentary about the respected historian
and Pan-African activist.

St. Clair Bourne, the recipient of this year’s DVFF Documentarian Award,
will host a screening of his film, The Making of Spike Lee's "Do the Right
Thing," on Sunday, February 15, 2:00pm at the Westport Public Library,
Westport, CT. The screening will be followed by a reception and discussion
with Mr. Bourne. This event is free to the public.
