Santa Monica Film Festival & VOD Film Market

Saturday, December 8th the Aero theatre hosts the Santa Monica Film Festival ® with special events including the Filmmaker Networking Nosh, Video-On-Demand Film Market & Seminar, 22 independent film screenings, the SMFF Awards ® and Cocktail Reception. Events and screenings will take place at the Aero Theatre located at 1328 Montana Avenue Santa Monica CA 90403. Doors open at 11:00A.

FILMMAKER NETWORKING NOSH (11AM):

Make the most of this year’s Festival and attend the Filmmaker Nosh to network with filmmakers, industry professionals and film fans alike.  Sponsored by M Street Kitchen.

VOD FILM MARKET & SEMINAR (12N):

Meet with movie aggregators, encoding companies and distribution platforms (e.g. Distribber, Upload Agency) at the Video-On-Demand Film Market & Seminar.  Learn how to self distribute your film on popular VOD platforms like iTunes, Hulu & Amazon.

FILM SCREENINGS (1PM, 3PM, 5PM, 7PM):

22 independent films from local, North American and international filmmakers will screen followed by Q&A with the filmmakers. 

SMFF AWARDS & COCKTAIL RECEPTION (9PM)

Lucas Dick (actor, comedian and son of Andy Dick) will host the 9th SMFF Awards®, producer David Katz announced today. This will be Dicks's first appearance on SMFF's stage. Lucas Dick will showcase his standup skills as MC of the event.  Cocktail reception to follow awards presentation.

ATTEND THE FESTIVAL:  Tickets for the event are $10 - $20 available in advance online at the festival website or at the festival venue box office on the day of the event.

PROCEEDS:  A portion of the proceeds from the SMFF will go towards fighting cancer and cancer research.

GREEN EVENT: SANTA MONICA FILM FESTIVAL is a green event.  A tree will be planted for each advanced ticket sold.
