Saint Petersburg announces the 12th fest edition

THE 12TH ANNUAL IFF “FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS ’2004”!
International Film Festival In Saint-Petersburg
23 - 29 June, 2004

City Administration of St. Petersburg, Ministry of Culture RF, the Committee of Culture, The “LENFILM” Studios, and the International Film Festivals Bureau are pleased to announce the XΙI ANNUAL IFF “FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS’2004” which will be held in the historic centre of St.Petersburg, during the magical White Nights, between JUNE 23 - 29, 2004.
“FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS” is Russia’s largest non-competitive Festival of recent outstanding works in international and russian cinema.
The Festival’s international partners are: British Council, Goethe Institute, Institute Francaise, Nordic Council of Ministers, Nordisk Kulturfond. From the Russian front, the Festival is supported by such well-known russian distribution companies as Intercinema, Central Partnership, West, Paradise, Panterra and others.

THE AWARDS OF THE FESTIVAL :
 GRAND-PRIX - GOLDEN GRYPHON for the film rated highest by guests and participants
 Silver Gryphon - audience prize
 Bronze Gryphon - for best experimental and new technology film
 Prize of Art Support named after Nikolay Ovsyannikov - for the best debut
 Prize of the city of St. Petersburg - for contribution into world cinema

The annual Festival programme is a screening of over 50 films made in different countries from around the world. Over 80 000 people attend each year the Festival screenings.

The Festival preserves its traditional screening sections as follows:

1. “FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS” - Screenings of latest films (and meetings with their makers) - highly appraised or awarded at other IFF’s
2. “NEW CINEMA OF RUSSIA” - Screenings of Russian films made in 2003-2004,
3. “SHORT METERS” - Films of young directors of the World
4. “SPECIAL SCREENIINGS” - Lenfilm Studio present “Great Names of St Petersburg Cinema” In the memory of V. Solovcov
5. “RETROSPECTIVES” - director Stephen Frears
6. “INT-l Prize-Winning films
from CIS and Baltic Republics”
