Ross Pollack to new CEO at Celestial Pictures

Celestial Pictures today announced the appointment of Mr. Ross Pollack to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Ross joins Celestial from Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), where he enjoyed a long and varied career. He has a B.A degree in International Business from Pace University, New York and has an MBA in International Finance and Japanese from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management.

Ross held a number of positions at SPE including SVP, Sales Planning for Sony Pictures international TV group (SPTI) in Los Angeles before relocating to HK in 2003 where he was initially responsible for the group’s regional business development. Since 2004 and until his move to Celestial Pictures, Ross would have been responsible for distribution of all Sony Pictures filmed entertainment, acquired products and produced content in Asia in his capacity as SVP, Distribution Asia.

Ross will focus on developing and implementing strategies that will create additional value for the Shaw Brothers film library, Celestial Pictures’ channel bouquet, as well as the production and acquisition of new Chinese content for distribution on Astro’s platforms and into global markets.
