The Official Awards of the sixth edition

THE PRIZES AWARDED BY THE INTERNATIONAL JURY

The international jury chaired by Ennio Morricone and comprised of Susanne Bier, Roberto Bolle, Carmen Chaplin, David Puttnam, Pierre Thoretton, Debra Winger has pronounced its verdict on the films competing in the Official Selection.  The international Jury has awarded:

- The Marc' Aurelio Jury Award for Best Film: Un cuento chino by Sebastián Borensztein

- The Marc' Aurelio Jury Award for Best actress: Noomi Rapace for Babycall

- The Marc' Aurelio Jury Award for Best actor: Guillaume Canet for Une vie meilleure

- The Grand Marc'Aurelio Jury  Award: Voyez comme ils dansent by Claude Miller

- The Special Marc'Aurelio Jury  Award: The Eye of the Storm by Fred Schepisi

- The Marc'Aurelio Jury Award for the best original score: Ralf Wengenmayr for Hotel Lux

THE AUDIENCE AWARD

Thanks to an electronic ballot system, the Festival has also included spectator participation in the awarding of the BNL audience prize for Best film. The films entitled to being awarded the prize are those that have competed in the Official Selection. The public has awarded:

- The BNL Audience Award for Best Film: Un cuento chino by Sebastián Borensztein   

THE MARC'AURELIO AWARD FOR THE BEST DOCUMENTARY IN THE EXTRA SECTION

A special international jury, headed by Francesca Comencini and comprised of Pietro Marcello, James Marsh, Anne Lai, Meghan Wurtz has awarded the: 

- The Marc'Aurelio Award for best documentary in the Extra Section Girl Model by David Redmon and Ashley Sabin

 

THE AWARDS ASSIGNED BY THE YOUNG JURIES

The films competing in the Alice nella città section have been awarded two Marc'Aurelio Alice nella città awards. They have been voted by two juries, one comprised of children under the age of 13 and one of youngsters above the age of 13. The young  juries have awarded the:

- Marc'Aurelio Alice nella città Under 13 Award : En el nombre de la hija by Tania Hermida P.

- Marc'Aurelio Alice nella città Over 13 Award : Noordzee Texas by Bavo Defurne

 


THE MARC'AURELIO EMERGING TALENT AWARD

thanks to the collaboration with the Department of Youth of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Marc'Aurelio Emerging Talent Award has been awarded to the director of the best début film included in any of the Festival sections. The jury chaired by Caterina D'Amico and comprised of Leonardo Diberti, Anita Kravos, Gianfrancesco Lazotti, Giuseppe Alessio Nuzzo has awarded the: 

- The Marc'Aurelio Emerging Talent Award: ex aequo Circumstance by Maryam Keshavarz - La Brindille by Emmanuelle Millet

 


THE MARC'AURELIO ACTING AWARD

The  Marc'Aurelio Acting Award has been presented to Richard Gere, the Hollywood star who has fought so many humanitarian battles and has played the lead in many popular films such as American Gigolò, An Officer and a Gentleman, Pretty Woman  as well as performing for great film directors including Robert Altman, Akira Kurosawa, Sydney Lumet, Francis Ford Coppola, Todd Haynes and Terrence Malick.
