Tribute to the Berlinale Kinderfilmfest in Rome

The Roman International Children's Film Festival, 'Alice nella Città' pays tribute to the Berlinale Kinderfilmfest.

A choice selection of six films from previous Kinderfilmfest competition programms will be screened from 5 - 6 June, at Rome's Bioparco. "We are honoured that that our Italian colleagues have decided to pay tribute to the Kinderfilmfest," commented festival director Thomas Hailer, "and we are thrilled that these wonderful, unique films will be screened once again, to large young audiences in Rome."

The Kinderfilmfest was founded in 1978 as a section of the Berlin International Film Festival and is one of the most prestigious festivals for children and young people. The festival organisers have always maintained good contact with other festivals and events for young audiences worldwide. "We were pleased when 'Alice nella Città' started up in 2003, thereby creating a further platform for screening outstanding, high-quality films for children and adolescents. We wish the festival and its directors Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli Savastano all the best for the second edition," said Thomas Hailer.
