Rebecca de Mornay returns to the Lee Strasberg Institute

REBECCA DE MORNAY APPEARS IN-PERSON FOR “FULL CIRCLE: THE ‘BOUNTIFUL’ JOURNIES OF REBECCA DE MORNAY” AT THE MARILYN MONROE THEATRE

THURSDAY APRIL 29TH, 2004 at 8:00PM

Acclaimed actress REBECCA DE MORNAY returns to her training ground at the Lee Strasberg Institute in West Hollywood to discuss, demystify and decode what it takes to maintain movie star status and emerge as a serious actress. De Mornay is a rare breed who has managed to accomplish both. In this appearance, De Mornay will roll up her sleeves and dig into her development as an actress and her survival in a brutally competitive business.

Before skyrocketing to international super stardom in 1983’s “Risky Business” co-starring Tom Cruise, film and television audiences knew her best from such memorable films as “The LY: Arial; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt">Before skyrocketing to international super stardom in 1983’s “Risky Business” co-starring Tom Cruise, film and television audiences knew her best from such memorable films as “The Trip to Bountiful,” “Runaway Train,” “Backdraft” and “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.” In the early 80s, De Mornay was an unknown actress learning her craft as a student of Lee Strasberg. In a special presentation for the Lee Strasberg Heritage Series, De Mornay will play host in the same theatre where she made her stage debut in David Rabe’s “In the The Boom Boom Room.” The goal of the series aims to illuminate the creative process and instill a deeper appreciation for the performances achieved on-screen. “The Lee Strasberg Heritage Series” is a one-night-only forum that brings audiences up-close to Strasberg’s most accomplished actors, directors and writers through stimulating discussion and demonstration. The evening will highlight film clips with analysis and commentary by De Mornay herself. Recently, the mayor of West Hollywood recognized “The Lee Strasberg Heritage Series” as an “event of cultural and artistic significance.” The Series which traditionally plays to standing room only capacity, will be De Mornay’s last public appearance before she begins filming two back-to-back feature films.

David Lee Strasberg, Creative Director of the Lee Strasberg Institute will moderate the evening. The event will take place in the beautifully renovated Marilyn Monroe Theatre in West Hollywood. Rebecca De Mornay and David Lee Strasberg are available for interviews.
