Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

R you there? Fantasporto day 2 and resisting

My treat for today: after a great coffee in the sun by the river Douro... The screening began at 3 something

RABIES (KALEVET)
by Aharon Keshales (Isr) - 90 min.
The film is fresh from the EFM market presentation and Fantasporto is the first stop on the festival circuit, I bet it is not the last one.
I chatted with Aharon before and after the movie, he is so proud to have amade the first horror movie in israel for the israelians, this came as a big surprise too for me.
Lots of dialogue : he almost threw as an excuse "israelians speak a lot" Great production values. Very well acted.
Bad cops get it as they should...I must say a lot of people die in the process.
So much for my digestion!

R U THERE
by David Verbeek (Hol) - 90 min.

Very interesting story telling. We are following gamers and SL dreamers. If your neck is hurting you can try the 1000€ massage? or the second life fairy love story.
Great film, just feels longer than 90 minutes somehow.

The film made me realise that second life seems centuries ago, such is the speed of the Internet! I now remember we created a Cannes Film Festival on second life with a digital croisette...
So what's for real, and what's digital...I loved the digital part.
Next...

CARANCHO
by Pablo Trapero (Arg) - 107 min.
Never mind I forgot about the movie very quickly.
I still remember thefilm has been nominated three times in Cannes at Un Certain Regard

BEDEVILLED
By Jang Cheol-so (Cor. Sul) - 115 min.
I bet you would not like living in Modoo, this tiny island off Seoul, with a bunch of worthless and violent retards.
The childhood friendship between Bok-nam and Hae-won did not resist time : city versus nowhere.
It wont resist much!
When the rebellion of Bok-nam, poor thing, brings bad blooth, someone get killed...
Time to go to bed and to forget all this madness on film.
Sleep well!
