Quickfest Launches New International Film Festival

Quickfest Launches New International Film Festival – 1st Fest is a 48 Hour Contest May 15 - 17
Quickfest 101, the first fest, will be in the format of a 48 hour film festival with the theme of ‘parody’. Filmmakers, entering as individuals or teams will compete to write, shoot, edit and submit their film over the weekend of May 15th.

Greg Zekowski, the Festival Director and working film and television Director says “the time is right for a festival that brings together the international film community. The format of a 48 hour festival is the perfect way to kick things off”.

With the festival announced only days ago, over 20 teams have already signed up to compete, taking advantage of the free entry fee for this inaugural festival. “We have already been contacted by Filmmakers from all around the world, this is shaping up to be a great start for Quickfest” said Zekowski.

Contestants films will be judged by a panel of working entertainment industry professionals, including Michael Berns, a Writer/Producer whose credits include Vegas, Geeks, and Kyle XY, Joey Paul a Casting Director whose credits include Legally Blonde and Into the Blue, Marc Forby, a Director/Producer of numerous feature films and Chris Donovan, a Director whose credits include big televised events such as the Emmys and the Golden Globes. More judges are to be announced as the festival gets closer.

The winning film will be featured on the Quickfest site, with the winners receiving prizes to be announced and free entry fees to all Quickfest events for life. All Filmmakers entering this first festival will receive a discount to upcoming Quickfest festivals.

Filmmakers interested in this, or future Quickfest festivals should visit Quickfest.com for more information and follow Quickfest at twitter.
