Puchon awards winners

Jury Members
- Stuart GORDON, Director, USA (Chairperson)
- Thom PALMEN, Festival Director, Sweden
- Jörg BUTTGEREIT, Director, Germany
- SHIOTA Tokitoshi, Festival Director, Japan
- SHIN Bo-kyung, Production Designer, Korea

Best of Puchon: Arahan
An amazing combination of fantasy, martial arts and comedy performed by an excellent cast, led by RYOO Seung-bum. The film’ energy is contagious leaving the audience gasping with pleasure.

Best Director Choice: Leonardo DI CESARE from Good Life Delivery
A totally believable nightmare set in the struggle of the everyday world, which places the viewer into the center of the drama. The actors portray strong three-dimensional characters who are trapped in a crumbling economy.

Best Actor Choice: Benoît DELEPINE & Gustave KERVERN from Aaltra
The two actors play off of each other to hilarious effect in the documentary-style black comedy, and redefine our attitudes to the disabled.

Best Actress Choice: Nat WATTANAPAT from My Suicide
The actress brings great strength and freshness to an initially unsympathetic character that we, the audience like the film’ hero, ultimately fall in love with.

Jury’ Choice: The Taste of Tea
A warm and gentle daydream of family life which utilizes special effects to enhance the emotional impact of the movie. This beautiful, offbeat, and ultimately positive film explores new techniques in visual story telling.

Pruzio Citizen’ Choice: Arahan

KIM Young, Producer, Korea
LIM Eun-kyung, Actress, Korea
JUNG Hoony, Cartoonist, Korea
KIM Hong-jip, Music Director, Korea

Grand Prize: Goodbye, Cruel World
Delicate mise-en-scène and temperate producing undoubtedly shine. Above all, the author’ sincere affection is well reflected on two main characters neglected from the world.

Jury’ Choice: My Parents
Subversive idea drawn from this film has raised the question of modern day crisis on dissolved family. The phase of changing relationship between people as well as family members witnessed in this film is fantastic. Also artistic accomplishment of characters and narrative is as astonishing as the ones of the Grand Prize awarded film Goodbye, Cruel World.

Citizen’ Choice: My Parents

Jan DOENSE
