Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Protesters will picnic on the beach with the public

Agreement between the management of the Festival de Cannes and the entertainment industry delegation.

Following their meeting on Tuesday May 11th, the management of the Festival de Cannes and the entertainment industry delegation have reached an agreement in which both parties will respect the following principles:
In line with the mission granted by its Board of Directors, the management of the Festival de Cannes would like to allow the entertainment industry jobbers to find suitable ways to express their concerns within the structure of the Festival.
The representatives of the entertainment industry jobbers have declared their desire to respect the mission of the Festival, which is to welcome and host artists from all over the world and to support their films.

To meet this double objective, they have come to an agreement on the following points:

- On of the town's theatres will be at their disposal so that they can work and hold meetings.

- The management of the Festival will welcome a delegation of entertainment industry professionals on the steps of the Palais for the opening ceremony on May 12th.

- A press conference will be organised in the Olympia cinema in Cannes on Friday 14th.

- On Sunday May 16th, the Festival will host in the Palais a meeting between the press, the representative of the committee and the directors and artists present at Cannes.

Finally, a picnic will be organised on Saturday May 15th on Macé beach from 1-3pm so that the delegates may meet with the public.

The Festival would especially like to thank the town council of Cannes for their help in making this agreement possible.

The delegation of entertainment industry representatives included members of the Fédération CGT du Spectacle, the Coordination Nationale des Intermittents et Précaires and the SRF.
