Producing Green (we don't just mean HULK): the EMA Green Seal

EMA's Green Seal Program seeks to recognize those productions that choose to embody and promote sustainable ideals. The Green Seal is the ultimate goal of the program, publicly acknowledging those productions that have chosen to incorporate sustainable initiatives into their productions and that have sought to be identified by applying for a Green Seal of recognition.

EMA's Green Seal Program was originally conceived as a way of recognizing and celebrating those productions employing specific environmental initiatives that EMA deemed important. The initial criteria were simplistic and represented the easiest initiatives to implement.

As environmental initiatives have gained support and as individuals have grown more sophisticated in their understanding of sustainable practices, it has become apparent to EMA that a more robust Green Seal program is appropriate. The new Green Seal criteria and scorecard are an effort to bolster the program in unison with the industry's environmental practices. The newest Green Seal program allows EMA to simultaneously promote sustainable production methods and highlight those in the industry who make strides in incorporating such practices into both film and television production.

While our criteria for Green Seal recognition have become more focused and detailed, the program remains voluntary and, in keeping with EMA's positive goals, only those productions seeking and applying for a Green Seal will be recognized.

EMA Awards
The annual EMA Awards is the only program singularly devoted to celebrating the entertainment industry’s creative environmental efforts. The EMA Awards honor productions, film and television personalities, musicians and musical tours that convey environmental messages in the most creative and influential ways.
