Paris Cinema 2006 : competition results !

PARIS CINEMA 2006
From June 27th to July 11th - 4th edition

AND THE WINNERS ARE...

After fifteen days of festival, the results from the competition of Les Rencontres - Paris Cinema official selection have been announced on July 10th at the Arlequin theater. Presided over by English actress Charlotte Rampling, the award ceremony has been followed by the Premiere screening of "La Raison du plus faible" directed by Lucas Belvaux, in presence of the film team.
Les Rencontres - Paris Cinema official selection, organized in collaboration with the Forum des images, presented to the audience fifteen international films, yet unseen in France. These films were in competition for three different awards : Grand Prix du Public (Audience Grand Prize), Prix de la Presse (Prize of the Press) and Prix de l'Avenir (Prize of the Future).

LES RENCONTRES - PARIS CINEMA OFFICIAL SELECTION
International films competition

Audience Grand Prize
Awarded by a vote from the audience
The director of the awarded film receives 3 000 euros offered by the Fondation GAN pour le cinéma.
The distributor of the film receives 15 000 euros offered by the Forum des images (institution subsidized by the Paris town hall), 2 500 euros by Titra Films for subtitling and 11 000 euros by Pariscope for advertising spaces.

BAMAKO

Prize of the Press
Awarded by a jury of five film critics to a 1st or 2nd film
TPS offers to the awarded film a promotion campaign of 30 000 euros on its channels .

OLD JOY

Prize of the Future
Awarded by a jury of ten students in cinema in Paris, presided over by director Olivier Jahan
Titra Films offers 2 500 euros for the subtitling of the awarded film and Studio Magazine offers a promotion campaign of 10 000 euros for its release.
