Opening Night of the EU Film Festival in Chengdu


The EU Film Festival Opening took place on November 19 in Chengdu.




The cocktail took place at the Sofitel Chengdu. Mikael Pulch, Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Commission to China, Cheng Xiaolin, Director General of Chengdu Administration of Radio & Television, Zhang Kangmei, Vice Director General of Chengdu Administration of Radio & Television, Zhang Decai, Director of the communication department of Chengdu Administration of Radio & Television, Zhang Yarong from Chengdu Stellar Film Industry as well as representatives from the French and German consulates in Chengdu, representatives of the Belgium, Czech, and EU trade offices in Chengdu and representatives of the Chongqing office of the British Council were present.



















Cheng Xiaolin, Director General of Chengdu Administration of Radio & Television, and Mikael Pulch, Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Commission to China, each made a speech.













Li Zhenqi, Vice General Manager of the Stellar Yingdu Multiplex, even organised a show of the Sichuan Opera called “bian lian” which means “Face-Changing”. Performers wear vividly colored masks, which they successively change within a fraction of a second.












The Swedish film “Evil” by Mikael Hafstrom was then screened at the Stellar Yingdu Multiplex.












Ten films are screened in Chengdu at the Stellar Yingdu Multiplex until December 4. All the films have English and Chinese subtitles.
