NSI's Judith McCann appointed Chief Executive, Film New Zealand

NSI Program Manager appointed Chief Executive, Film New Zealand
February 20, 2004

NSI - Canada Aboriginal Cultural Trade Initiative Program Manager appointed
Chief Executive of Film New Zealand

Winnipeg - The National Screen Institute - Canada (NSI) congratulates Judith
McCann, Program Manager for the NSI Aboriginal Cultural Trade Initiative, on
her appointment to Chief Executive of Film New Zealand, which will take
effect in late June.

“We are very excited for Judith – she will be a valued asset to Film New
Zealand,” said NSI Chief Executive Officer Susan Millican. “Her appointment
shows once again the high calibre of industry respect, skill and talent NSI
faculty possess.”

The NSI Aboriginal Cultural Trade Initiative is an ambitious three phase
training program designed to help Canadian Aboriginal producers advance
their projects as co-productions with producers in New Zealand and
Australia. A range of advanced professional and project development
opportunities, including a 10-day export mission to both countries in April,
2004, are provided as key components of the program.

This program is made possible through the generous financial support of
Global Television Network through the CanWest Foundation. NSI also
acknowledges the financial support of the Government of Canada through the
Trade Routes Program of the Department of Canadian Heritage for the NSI
Aboriginal Culture Training Initiative.

The National Screen Institute - Canada, with headquarters in Winnipeg, is
one of Canada’s four nationally recognized film and television training
schools. In addition to its training and development programs, NSI also
presents NSI FilmExchange Canadian Film Festival in Winnipeg each March. NSI
FilmExchange is the largest established film festival showcasing 100%
Canadian film. It features an exciting collection of short and
feature-length films, master classes, industry sessions, great parties, and
National Exposure Amateur Movie Contest.
