Moondance film festival returns to Boulder

By popular demand, and after six successful years in Boulder (2000-2005), and two great years in Hollywood (2006 & 2007), the Moondance International Film Festival happily returns home to Boulder and Chautauqua Park in 2008 for the 9th annual event (and beyond)! The Hollywood glitz just doesn't hold a candle to the intimate and welcoming ambience of Boulder and the lovely Chautauqua Park venues that feel perfect for Moondance and our Moondancers from the US and around the world.

The film festival will take place at Chautauqua's Community House, the Shambhala Meditation Center and various networking party venues around Boulder on August 29, 30 and 31, & September 1, Labor Day weekend. There will be many never-before-seen indy film screenings, workshops presented by film industry professionals, awards ceremony, and gala networking parties, and all events are open to the public, filmmakers, music composers and writers.

Moondance, known as the "American Cannes", is the different film festival! Moondance actively encourages, inspires and promotes films and writings that depict non-violent conflict resolution and alternatives to violence, environmental preservation and awareness, and seeks films, music and writings by, for and about women. Moondance offers everyone a unique opportunity to come together with other writers, directors and producers to create new opportunities, develop tools for success and forge new alliances within the international film and entertainment industry.

Moondance International Film Festival's primary goal is to present films and scripts which have the power to raise awareness about vital social issues, educating writers and filmmakers, as well as our film festival audiences, and inspiring them to take positive action. Through meaningful films, we begin to realize that our routine perspectives can give way to new ways of seeing the world, ourselves and others. Moondance believes in the unique power of the world entertainment media to create great social and environmental change. Our goal is to deliver compelling entertainment that will inspire and encourage people to actively get involved in the issues that affect all of us.
