Massimo Troisi to be honored by Capri Festival

CAPRI HONORS THE MYTH OF TROISI AND THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE POSTMAN;
CAMPANIA REGION SPECIAL PRIZES WILL GO TO DIRECTORS RADFORD, CUCINOTTA AND
VENERUSO

The myth of Massimo Troisi will live again during the 10th anniversary of the Capri, Hollywood - Kimbo International Film Festival and the decennial of The Postman, the much acclaimed film that he wrote, starred in and co-directed.

The film's English director, Michael Radford, and co-star Maria Grazia
Cucinotta will be on hand for the celebration of the late Troisi on
December 28, along with Troisi's grandson and Stefano Veneruso, then an
assistant to Radford and today co-producer and co-author of the new film
about the lives of Third World children, All the Invisible Children.

Radford will receive the Campania Region Special Prize for The Postman.
Marco Di Lello, the Region's council member for tourism, said the prize
"honors a great Neapolitan and his colleagues, whose production always will
move lovers of film, poetry and the scenery of Campania. The talent and
irony of Massimo Troisi will always be present in our hearts." The famous
actor died of a heart attack shortly after completing The Postman.

For Michael Radford, his first trip to Capri will be "to a land I have
always seen from the other part of the Gulf of Naples." It will remind him
of traveling to the smallest island in the Gulf of Naples, Procida, while
working with Troisi on The Postman. This summer, he plans to visit yet
another of the sparkling Italian islands, Ischia, for the Ischia Global
Festival.
