Tony Dyson, the man behind “Star Wars” R2-D2. The versatile Emmy nominated Film SFX supervisor is the creative genius at the helm of many of the biggest SCI-FI movies to date. Among them are “Superman 2”, “Moon Raker”, “Dragon Slayer”, and of course, “The Empire Strikes Back”.

Tony, together with Susan Johnston, Director and Founder of New Media Film Festival will speak at “MachinExpo” in Second Life 3:00pm-3:30pm, Sunday 20th Nov 2011 on the topice "Thinking Outside the Frame".


The New Media Festival have joined forces to enhance both the “MachinExpo” in Second Life and the real-lifeNew Media Film Festival in Los Angeles.
The partnership between the MachinExpo and the New Media Festival will enhance both events:
● New Media will be adding a “Machinima” Category to the New Media Film Festival.
● All Jury films from the Expo entered automatically free of charge.
● $40 entry fee (discount available)
● Films selected into New Media Film Festival compete for over $45,000 in quality prizes combined and are considered for distribution contract from an Award Winning Distribution Partner at the 3rd Annual New Media Film Festival which will take place in Los Angeles in May 2012.
● “Machinima” filmmakers will have their movies reach a wider audience which Includes Industry Leaders and Entertainment Companies. Judges include Pixar, the Caucus & IL&M.
