Kate Winslet and Madonna at 68th Venice Film Festival

September 01, 2011, will mark the world premier of Roman Polanski's latest film, CARNAGE (2011) at the 68th Venice Film Festival. Based on the play 'God of Carnage' by French playwright Yasmina Reza, the film is written and directed by Roman Polanski and stars Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly. The four characters will meet after a fight between their sons at school and will spin off from there into a quirky and original black comedy. The film will play in competition for this year's Golden Lion award.

Winslet is set to walk the red carpet with Madonna who is also appearing to present the world premier of her film (Out of Competition) W.E. (2011).

Madonna's directorial debut, W.E. (2011) will also have its world premier tonight in Venice. Directed by Madonna, starring Abbie Cornish, Oscar Isaac, Richard Coyle, James D'Arcy and Andrea Riseborough, the movie was filmed between England, France and the United States. The film is a layercake drama telling the tale of two love stories- one from history about King Edward VIII (James D'Arcy) and his romantic relationship with Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) and the other from present day about the married Wally Winthrop (Abbie Cornish) and a Russian official.
