Another luminary has joined the ranks paying tribute to the legendary
filmmaker, Sidney Lumet,
Joanne Woodward will join husband Paul Newman, "Get Smart's" Barbara Feldon,
Oscar winner Celeste Holm, Lucie Arnaz, Lawrence Luckinbill and a host of
other stars to salute five-time Oscar nominee Sidney Lumet (maker of such films as "Network" and "Dog Day Afternoon.") last Friday,
February 13th in Stamford.

The evening started with Stamford Mayor Dannel P. Malloy proclaiming "Sidney
Lumet Weekend." This was followed by a screening of the Lumet masterpiece
starring the tragic but extraordinary actor River Phoenix, "Running On
Empty," at the newly renovated Avon Theatre.

Immediately following the film, was the dinner and award
presentation at the Stamford Marriott Hotel. Paul Newman, who was nominated
for an Oscar in the Lumet-directed film "The Verdict," presented the
award.

Ms. Woodward starred in the 1959 award-winning Lumet-directed film "The
Fugitive Kind," starring alongside Marlon Brando.
