Infecting the city (Cape Town Festival)

INFECTING THE CITY (ITC) is a theme-oriented festival that presents site-specific and public performance works in inner city Cape Town, South Africa. Entering its 3rd year in this form, the dates for ITC 2010 are Saturday 13th February to Saturday 20th February.

The concept of the New Collaborative Works for INFECTING THE CITY 2010 : ‘HUMAN RITE’ has been refined further and teams of collaborating artists will be commissioned to make large scale durational performance installations in the public spaces of Cape Town for the Festival.

We have had an overwhelming response from artists working in the performing arts, and would like to encourage conceptual and installation artists and designers to apply before the 12 August 2009.

The New Collaborative Works will allow local artists who work in diverse media and forms to collaborate with established and cutting-edge pan-African and international peers. The creative residency takes place during three weeks in November 2009, and resumes for five weeks from mid-January till the end of the Festival.
