IFFS panel on Festival ticketing in Vegas this tuesday

The Fest Summit has programmed this first Panel on Festival ticketing "Unlock Your Festivals Ticketing Potential" (tuesday 1:45pm- 2:45pm)

The panel will provide a comparison of ticketing and pass models addressing pros and cons along with companies to consider working with. Hear what models are appropriate for your festival, printing issues, day of sale issues and more.

Moderator: Bruno Chatelin, COO, Filmfestivals.com

Some of the following questions will be answered by our esteemed panelists:
Which percentage of ticketing is achieved online
Individual tickets%
Fest passes %

What to your knowledge is the extreme range of the percentages (ie online tix business vs total box office max)

Can festivals operate with multiple ticketing solutions?

Which business models are in the market, how do the ticketing make money?

What a typical turnover breakdown for ticketing companies (ie what do they sell)

Concerts, theatre musical movie, sports...

What are the key rules to move smoothly into online ticketing...

Our panelists:

Keith Weckstein, Director of Ticketing, Tribeca Film Festival

With over 10 years of film and event experience, Keith Weckstein, Director of Ticketing of the Tribeca Film Festival, also holds the position of Director of Operations for the organization's year-round private event and screening facility, Tribeca Cinemas. Keith has been with TFF since its inception in 2001, beginning as the Festival Coordinator. Through the years and growth of the Festival, he has been involved in many of the organizations stages of planning and execution. While overseeing the Festival's Box Office Operations, he has implemented two different ticketing solutions, including building systems and personnel to handle sales online, by phone, and at outlet locations.

In addition to TFF, Keith's experience has led him to ticketing other Film Festivals and events who find Tribeca Cinemas as their New York home. Keith designs and implements individualized ticketing systems for over 10 film festivals year-round which are hosted at the venue, providing customized services and solutions for each client.

Keith is an active member of the International Ticketing Association, and has guest lectured at New York University, Columbia Business School, and the INTIX Summer Annual Conference.

Erik Jambor, Executive Director, Indie Memphis

Erik co-founded the Sidewalk Moving Picture Festival in Birmingham, Alabama in 1999 and served as Director for its first eight years, developing a festival that rapidly became a filmmaker favorite and served as a catalyst for Birmingham's film community. Last year, he ran the BendFilm Festival in Bend, Oregon where he created a program that The Oregonian called "the best crop of fictional features yet to screen at BendFilm." Erik is now back down South as Executive Director of Indie Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee, where he was able to bring a 30% attendance increase to the 11th annual Indie Memphis Film Festival last October.

Erik has also served on a number of film festival juries, including Slamdance, South by Southwest, Ashland, Atlanta and Nashville. He is a graduate of Florida State University's Film School, and will someday make another film of his own.

He will be talking about the planning before approaching the ticketing companies and how it's important for the ticketing companies to actually show you the functionality you are being told about rather than just taking the Sales person's word for it.

Brian Arnone, VP of Business Development, Enta USA

Enta USA is a ticketing software company that has been in the US market for about 2 years now.

Enta was created in the UK and currently works with over 200 organizations in 24 countries. They work with Film Festival organizations like the British Film Institute in the UK and the New Orleans Film Society in the US. Brian has personally worked for a variety of ticketing companies during his career including Tickets.com, Ticketmaster, TicketWeb, MAXtix and now Enta.

He has worked with the San Francisco International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival and the Dubai International Film Festival to a name a few.
