Hopkins awarded Cecile B. de Mille award at Golden Globe

More than 45 Hollywood stars have been set as presenters at “The 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards” to be telecast live on NBC Monday, January 16 (8 – 11:00 p.m. EST) at The Beverly Hilton.
Anthony Hopkins will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement during the 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards to be telecast live on NBC on Monday, January 16, 2006. Hopkins has received six Golden Globe nominations; including four as Best Actor (Drama) for Nixon (1995), The Remains Of The Day (1993), The Silence Of The Lambs (1991), and Magic (1978). He received a Best Supporting Actor nomination for Amistad (1997) and a nomination as Best Actor In A Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made-For-Television for The Tenth Man (1988). Recent Cecil B. DeMille winners include Robin Williams (2005), Michael Douglas (2004), Gene Hackman (2003), Harrison Ford (2002), Al Pacino (2001), Barbra Streisand (2000), and Jack Nicholson (1999).

Presenters include Jessica Alba, Pamela Anderson, Eric Bana, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, Mariah Carey, Penelope Cruz, Rosario Dawson, Catherine Deneuve, Leonardo DiCaprio, Josh Duhamel, Clint Eastwood, Colin Firth, Harrison Ford, Jamie Foxx, Melanie Griffith, Jill Hennessy, Queen Latifah, Evangeline Lilly, Virginia Madsen, Matthew McConaughey, Tim McGraw, Julian McMahon, Ian McShane, Mandy Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Petersen, Natalie Portman, Dennis Quaid, Tim Robbins, Chris Rock, Emmy Rossum, Brandon Routh, Nicollette Sheridan, Hilary Swank, Emma Thompson, John Travolta, Paul Walker, Denzel Washington, Luke Wilson, Renee Zellweger and the cast of “Will and Grace.”

Anthony Hopkins will receive this year’s Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his “outstanding contribution to the entertainment field.”

“The Golden Globe Awards” will be seen in more than 150 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that span both television and motion picture achievements.

“The 63rd Annual Golden Globe Awards” will be produced by dick clark productions in association with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Philip Berk is President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Allen Shapiro and Barry Adelman are executive producers. Chris Donovan is director. Al Schwartz is consulting producer. Ken Shapiro is producer. Ron Weed is co-producer.
