About El Gouna Film Festival

El Gouna Film Festival, founded in 2017, is one of the leading festivals in the MENA region. GFF aims to showcase a wide variety of films for a passionate and knowledgeable audience, while fostering better communication between cultures through the art of filmmaking. Its goal is to connect filmmakers from the region with their international counterparts in the spirit of cooperation and cultural exchange. The festival is committed to the discovery of new voices and strives to be a catalyst for the development of cinema in the Arab world, especially through CineGouna Platform, an industry-oriented event created to empower Egyptian and Arab filmmakers and help them find artistic and financial support. CineGouna Platform presents the CineGouna Bridge program that provides opportunities for sharing and learning and the CineGouna SpringBoarda project development and co-production lab.  New this year is the CineGouna Market, including the Short Film Lounge, a place creating a link between emerging and established filmmakers.

Numerous guests will be present filmmakers, producers, distributors and others fields in cinema. Different ideas and testimonies all united by the great love for the seventh art.

This special edition of the Festival has it's sections of Competition (feature narrative,  feature documentary and short film), it's Out of Competition and Special Presentation in which especially this year El Gouna Film Festival explores the intricate and interconnected fabric of human experiences, stories and lives in Palestine with his special program window on Palestine

A creative hub for minds and markets, CineGouna Platform is an industry-oriented event created to support and empower Egyptian and Arab filmmakers, helping them find artistic and financial support. CineGouna Platform presents the CineGouna SpringBoard and CineGouna Bridge programs that provide opportunities for sharing and learning.

In its 6th edition, El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) puts the spotlight on Industry. Leading the charge in this exciting new chapter is the CineGouna Platform (CGP), a long-standing pillar of GFF, which is unveiling its latest initiative: the CineGouna Market.

The CineGouna Market serves as a workspace for established and emerging voices in the film industry. The market provides a platform for showcasing line-ups, projects, services, and new technologies of participating organizations and institutions.

CineGouna Emerge is an initiative designed to empower the next generation of filmmakers in Egypt. In partnership with the European Union in Egypt, GFF invites film students and emerging talents to attend the festival.
