Haryana International Film Festival opens for Christmas
The second edition of Haryana International Film Festival will commence on the 24th of December. 70 films from 20 countries will be screened under 20 sections in the festival. Union Housing and Tourism Minister Kumari Selja will be the chief guest at the opening ceremony.
"Besides the film screenings, there would be a five-day long film appreciation course in which nearly 250 students from different universities of North India will participate. There would be special programme on Haryanvi and Punjabi cinema on Dec 27 and 28 respectively," Ajit Rai,director of the festival said.
Besides Indian films, movies from countries like Iran, Pakistan, China and Hong Kong will be screened during the festival. A separate section on NRI films will be held, in which the films by famous directors like Meera Nair, Gurinder Chaddha and Nikhil Kaushik will be shown.
