Hamburg International ShortFilmFestival Awards

Out of all submission, roughly 200 films are selected for the competitions of the Hamburg International ShortFilmFestival each year. There are several awards in each section as well as cross-competition prizes, all in all adding up to more than 30.000 euro in prize money. The winners will be announced on Sunday, 7 June 2009 at the Award Ceremony.


The following prizes are awarded by a jury or the winner is chosen by the audience:

Friese Award (Children's jury award, programmes for 4-8 year-olds, sponsored by Springer Bio-Backwerk, EUR 1.250)
Mo Award (Children's jury award, programmes for 9-14 years-olds, sponsored by GEOlino, EUR 1.250)
In the High Five! (Topic 2008 My favourite place) competition 3 awards (EUR 600 in total, sponsored by GEOlino) will be arwarded
