FilmTies.com demonstrates that online financing model works

FilmTies.com, the world's first online interactive membership based, social networking community that provides funding for film projects through its patent pending model, today announced it has funded and sent into production four projects through the patent pending film financing model. The first film financed was Western Pennsylvania resident Ryan Cavalline's Dead Body Man Chronicles. Cavalline's film was financed by local sponsorships with only five hours of phone time.

"My screen plays are my passion and for many years I've dreamed of having them brought to life. FilmTies.com has made available the resources essential to the success of my movies when no one else was willing to do so," stated Cavalline. "FilmTies.com is exactly what I've been searching for, and I'm extremely excited about getting these projects underway."

FilmTies.com is a new avenue for not only filmmakers, actors, musicians, film crew and artist but for the Film Fans as well. For a filmmaker, having a project financed can literally be a matter of clicks and support by local advertisers. Through website interaction, filmmakers can promote and make their project known to the public and in this case, it is the public that decides which films are financed by visiting the project development stages on the FilmTies.com site and voting on their favorite films. FilmTies.com becomes the filmmakers "community." Actors and film crew for the projects are chosen strictly from the community and soundtracks are created by musicians chosen strictly from the FilmTies.com film projects' group pages. The model eliminates all risk; advertisers receive a media buy on FilmTies.com with the added value that they are financing a film and supporting the arts in their community while revenue from the ad sales go to the film projects.

"There are no words that can describe the feeling I now have knowing that my screen play is finally going into production. Working through last year's beta testing, FilmTies.com and with the FilmTies.com team has been such a pleasant experience," stated Chad Armstrong, Devil's Eye. "When my film was chosen for development, the FilmTies team ensured me that it if we worked with them through the beta period, once we were launched, it would only be a matter of days before my film was funded and sent into production and they stuck by their statement. I'd encourage all independent filmmakers to check out the site and learn how FilmTies.com can help make the dream of seeing their screenplay come alive a reality."

Out of the four films funded, one is a documentary intended to capture the next 120 days at FilmTies.com. The goal is to reach one million members by the end of this time frame and to have it documented for public viewing. Throughout the next 120 days, members can view bits and pieces of the film on the website's homepage; this will allow members to not only follow the entire process, but to learn about the people behind the scenes.

"I created this model as a screenwriter searching for funding; I've been through the process and I understand the agonizing obstacles independent filmmakers face when trying to find funding for their films," stated John DeTitta, founder and CEO of FilmTies.com. "It is the goal of FilmTies.com to eliminate some of those obstacles and to provide a new avenue for independent filmmakers to finance their projects. Through FilmTies.com, it is the viewing public that decides which projects will receive funding rather than the large production companies that often turn down talented screen writers because they cannot take on the risk of regularly signing unknown filmmakers.'"
