Eva Mendes named the Most Desirable Woman of 2009 by AskMen.com

AskMen.com, the largest online men's magazine, today announced its 9th annual list of the "Top 99 Most Desirable Women." AskMen.com readers cast more than ten million votes to rank the women who best represent the qualities of the ideal girlfriend or wife. Eva Mendes, the Cuban-American actress who appeared in two films over the past year,  received the most votes and has been named the 2009 #1 Most Desirable Woman.
Mendes ranked #4 on last year's list. Rounding out the top three for 2009 were actress Megan Fox and Victoria's Secret model Marisa Miller

Readers can view the full "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" list, as well as profiles and pictures of each honoree at http://www.AskMen.com. The top ten honorees, in order, include:

1. Eva Mendes, actress and model

2. Megan Fox, actress

3. Marisa Miller, Victoria's Secret model

4. Keeley Hazell, British model

5. Anne Hathaway, Golden Globe® Awards nominee actress

6. Alessandra Ambrosio, Brazilian model

7. Scarlett Johansson, newlywed and actress

8. Rihanna, GRAMMY® winning singer actress

9. Kristen Bell, screen actress

10. Kate Beckinsale, screen actress

"Of all the qualities I find attractive in a man, paying me such a compliment tops my list. Thanks, guys!" - Eva Mendes (#1)

While consisting of perennial AskMen.com favorites including Beyonce (#50) and Jessica Simpson (#70), the 2009 Top 99 list welcomes a new wave of up-and-coming pop culture icons that are currently capturing readers' attention.
First-time honorees include Isla Fisher (#31), Katy Perry (#38), Carla Bruni (#76) and Tina Fey (#97), among others.

"AskMen.com readers are very tuned in to the biggest starlets and trends in film, music, fashion and politics," said James Bassil, editor-in-chief of AskMen.com. "Whether it's the latest movie, comedy sketch or political phenomenon, the ‘Top 99 Most Desirable Women' list is a unique pulse-check of the women that our readers are not only following, but perceive as more than
just a pretty face."

The AskMen.com "Top 99 Most Desirable Women" differs from other polls in that it is determined by the site's readers, not an editorial staff. Every year, AskMen.com readers from all over the world are asked to look beyond sex appeal and beauty to pick women who have the qualities they value most in a potential companion, including intelligence, humor, character and ambition. The result is a list far more revealing than the common "Most Sexy" or "Most Beautiful" lists published elsewhere.
