End of the Pier International Film Festival news

It’s going to be a fantastic Easter film fest of a time in Bognor Regis

The 2011 End of the Pier International Film Festival is back in Bognor and will be better than ever, with a new compact weekend programme that will offer a wide range of short films in competition as well as world and UK feature film premières

The main venue is set to be the Regis Centre in Belmont Street, with programmes commencing on Friday 22nd April at 2pm and running until 10pm. The main day for shorts the short film competition will be Saturday 23rd and screenings will commence at 12noon until 10pm.

Sunday will once more see the now legendary Script Writing Competition to be held once again in the Centre and the event will close with the final screening at 6pm prior to the awards and wrap party.

Submissions are already piling up and a new range of top-flight awards are planned for the close of the event, which will literally take place ON THE PIER, marking only the second time the festival has used the building that it derives it’s quirky name from. The End of the Pier title comes from the fact that there is NO end of the Pier at Bognor due to the fact it was washed away in a past storm. However, the Pier as a venue holds a great deal of promise as immediately after the illustrious star-studded awards, there will a late night wrap party in the upper-floor of the night club. Entry for both the awards and wrap party will be by festival pass only, so be sure to have your pass with you at all times if visiting the event.

A new simplified ticket and entry system will be in place for 2011. All film makers will receive 2 free weekend passes which will grant them access to all the screenings and any other events that are taking place: such as receptions and the awards and wrap party. VIPs and Sponsors will also receive two free weekend festival passes. (Subject to availability) Passes will be on sale at £15 for a full weekend, £10 for Saturday and Sunday, and just £5 for the closing Sunday, which will include the awards and wrap party. Passes will be on sale on the first day and every day. (Note the festival will have a general 15 certificate. Due to licensing restrictions only people 18 and over will be permitted into the Awards Presentation and wrap party)

The festival organisers will be working together with a local hotel, The Royal Norfolk to offer festival attendees first class accommodation in the best hotel in town and only a few minutes from the main venue.

If you are considering submitting a film into the event please do as a quickly as possible by visit our web site www.eotpfilmfestival.co.uk and down load the subs forms. If you want to reserve visitor passes them please email us at: info@eotpfilmfestival.co.uk and we will ensure that the passes you require will be waiting for you upon your arrival. Remember Bognor Regis is only 1hr 50 mins from London Victoria by train on a direct service and under fifty minutes from Brighton and Portsmouth, change at Barnham. So, why not make Bognor Regis your fun filled Easter vacation destination and see some of the best independent short and feature films around today.
