The programme for the third Edinburgh International Film Audiences Conference (EIFAC), to be held on 26-27 March 2009, has been finalised and places are booking up fast.

EIFAC brings the latest research into film audiences to Edinburgh. The event will be truly international: it includes contributors from across Europe, and even from down under, talking about audiences from Nairn to Taipei.
Papers cover individual films and entire film festivals, the past and the future, babies to baby boomers - but they all focus on empirical film audience research. The full programme is available on the conference website (www.filmaudiencesconference.co.uk).

The opening speaker is Professor Ian Christie, from the School of Art, Film and Visual Media, Birkbeck, University of London, and Dr Sean Perkins of the UK Film Council will be the closing speaker.

There is also a plenary session at the end of the first day that brings Professor Martin Barker, Aberystwyth University, Professor Robin MacPherson, Screen Academy Scotland and Dr Emily Munro, Glasgow Film Theatre together to discuss current issues related to film audiences.

EIFAC is hosted by the Edinburgh Film Guild at Filmhouse, Lothian Road, Edinburgh.
