East Doc Platform | Prague Programme highlights

East Doc Platform | Prague | March 5 – 11, 2012
East European Forum, Doc Launch Presentation, East Silver Videolibrary, Project Market

Tuesday’s East Doc Platform programme offered the first part open for wide public. British theorist Mandy Rose held a lecture titled Four Categories of Collaborative Documentary in which she summarized new creative methods in the creation of documentary cross-media projects. East Silver Videolibary launched its week-long operation so it is going to be available also for the whole Wednesday, March 7, which is the East Doc Platform day two. This time, however, the open programme features a variety of options for the public: all the holders of East Doc Platform open programme accreditations may join Forum workshop participants at Martichka Bozhilova a Georg Tschurtschenthaler‘s lecture. Titled Outside the Local Box, the lecture considering thematic outreach of locally-rooted stories gets focused on some specific examples of German-Bulgarian co¬production. Employing several film excerpts, both producers are going to introduce the audience into particular cases, leaving the moderation of the lecture on a Danish expert Mikael Opstrup. He will be on the stage twice on Wednesday -together with a Dutch tutor Marijke Rawie, Opstrup is holding a public lecture about the contemporary options of documentary film financing. Their talk is going to include some practical information, deadlines, funds, eligibility and accessibility. In the end of the day, there will be the first of the two special screenings – Scenes from a Wild Boar Hunt by Claudio Pazienza. The Belgian author of the documentary, also this year’s Forum workshop tutor, will personally present his 2007 documentary and will be available for Q&A’s after the screening.
