Dubai Studio City Launches ‘Wall of Fame’ with Aishwarya Rai

Dubai Studio City (DSC) today launched its iconic landmark, the ‘Wall of Fame’ with the most recognised and influential name in the Indian and international film industry, Aishwarya Rai.

A special handprint ceremony organised by Dubai Studio City, marked the occasion as part of the 7th IIFA Weekend and Awards extravaganza in Dubai.

Expressing delight over Aishwarya Rai’s presence to commemorate the launch, Jamal Al Sharif, Director, DSC said: “The Wall of Fame is a significant feature of Dubai Studio City that will add to Dubai’s attraction and international stature. We are extremely privileged to mark this momentous occasion with the handprint of Aishwarya Rai, who is a talented star with true global appeal.”

“Aishwarya Rai has driven the Indian film industry to new levels of popularity with her talent and magnetic charisma. With more than 17,000 websites dedicated to her name, Aishwarya Rai commands a tremendous following across countries and cultures.”

Jamal Al Sharif also hailed Aishwarya Rai for her generous contribution to charitable causes through the Aishwarya Rai Foundation.

Placing her hand on the imprint cast, Aishwarya Rai said: "This is a special moment for me. I would like to extend my love and appreciation to Dubai. I would like also to congratulate Dubai for launching Dubai Studio City and I am looking forward to experiencing this initiative"

She has also extended her congratulations for IIFA and said:" IIFA is getting better year after year and I would like to congratulate them for such smashing success."

The Dubai Studio City Wall of Fame is a unique initiative that will add to the attractions of the region’s cinema, television and music hub. The Wall will be located in an air-conditioned glass tunnel along the side walk of the DSC Main Boulevard.

The concept will offer film enthusiasts the opportunity to access trivia on celebrities through hand prints. An autographed image of the star and a personal memorabilia donated by the celebrity will be featured with each handprint on the interactive screens.

The Wall of Fame will also receive the handprints of IIFA ambassador and superstar Amitabh Bachchan at the IIFA Foundation Fashion Extravaganza on 15 June at the Dubai Airport Expo.

Dubai Studio City is a new hub designed to promote local, regional and international film, television and music industries. DSC will provide production companies with state-of the art infrastructure that will help enhance their growth opportunities. Its diversified offerings will include studio complexes, sound stages of different sizes, indoor and outdoor shooting and performance areas, theatres, cinemas as well as luxury hotels and residential areas.
