Down to the Wire: A 24 Hour Film Race

DOWN
TO THE WIRE: A 24 HOUR FILM RACE

MovieMaker Magazine named Wichita one
of the top cities for independent film production in 2012 for a reason.
Tallgrass
Filmmakers Lab

and
Creative
Rush

are teaming up for Wichita's first-ever 24 hour film competition.
Down to the Wire: A 24 Hour Film Race, is open to the
general public - you need not be a professional filmmaker to participate.

Participants can enter on their own as a team of one or with up to fifteen people. Teams have 24 hours to write, produce, shoot and edit a short film that is six minutes or less. Four elements will be randomly chosen at the beginning of the race on Friday, August 9 and must be included in all films. At the end of the race, on Saturday, August 10, a committee will choose the top ten films, which will then move on to a showcase at the Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, August 12 where a panel of VIP judges will live critique the films and choose the winners.

The first place prize package includes a gala screening at the 10th annual Tallgrass Film
Festival, a filmmaking grant from Vimeo, VIP TallPasses for all team members, a complimentary one-night stay in a loft suite at the Hotel at Waterwalk, and
more. Prizes will also be given to the second and third place films, plus the best student film and the People's Choice winner.
