Discover the inaugural Fullerton Film Festival/F3

The inaugural Fullerton Film Festival/F3, developed by the Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation, will take place August 3 – 6, 2006. With the mission to develop and encourage the support of film in North Orange County, the festival will hold screenings and programs in several venues throughout the heart of Downtown Fullerton. Opening night, Tuesday, August 3 will feature a special outdoor presentation of the hugely successful MOVIES ON THE FOX on the east wall of the historic Fox Theatre. Upon completion of the renovation in 2010, the Fox Theatre will be the Festival’s premier venue.

“The Fullerton Film Festival will bring film goers from all over Orange County to downtown Fullerton in anticipation of the completion of our wonderful historic Fox Fullerton Theatre,” said Mayor Leland Wilson. “F3 will be a great addition to the City of Fullerton’s growing reputation as an arts and cultural destination for the region.” Mayor Wilson added.

The Fullerton Film Festival will screen an eclectic mix of international, classic and recent features and shorts. Music video programs, animation, experimental work as well as contributions from student filmmakers of all ages will also be offered. “There are many talented filmmakers, locally and from all over the world, telling compelling stories that both entertain and reflect our times,” said Jon Wagner, Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation Executive Director, “We want to bring those films to Fullerton.”

In addition to the east wall of the Fox Theatre, the Fullerton Film Festival screenings and programs are scheduled to take place in the Plummer Auditorium, the Wilshire Auditorium, Fullerton College as well as venues such as Stages, the Maverick and the Fullerton Museum.

The Fullerton Film Festival/F3 is currently accepting submissions. For deadlines and details, visit the festival’s website www.f3filmfestival.com.

The Fullerton Historic Theatre Foundation, a community based non profit public benefit corporation was established to meet the challenge of saving The Fox Theatre from demolition and restoring it to be a cultural destination. With the dedicated support of the Fullerton community, the Foundation acquired the property in January 2005 and is now working with architectural firm, Westlake Reed Leskosky, experts in the renovation of historic theatres.
