Cine Las Americas International Film Festival new venue

The 11th Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, scheduled from April 16 -24, will present films in its Panorama Program at the 501 Screening Room on Saturday, April 19th and Sunday, April 20th.

The documentaries and short films that make up the Panorama Program tell a diverse array of stories that Cine Las Americas considers important to bring to Central Texas audiences. The films represent a variety of cultures as well as social and political issues that are underrepresented by mainstream media.

"This year's selections include documentaries addressing land rights, human rights, censorship, immigration and the 2006 popular uprising in Oaxaca, Mexico", says Jacqueline Rush Rivera, Director of Programming for Cine Las Americas.

The 501 Screening Room is a new venue located at 5th Street and I-35, a block west of Progress Coffee and just east of downtown Austin. Plenty of free parking is available across the street from the venue.
