Chicago International Children's Film Festival

The Chicago International Children's Film Festival announces a SPECIAL PREVIEW SCREENING of Martian Child on Saturday, October 20 at 1pm, at the Wilmette Theater, 1122 Central Avenue in Wilmette.

"It's always fun for families to be the first to see new releases before they're out," said Submissions Manager Jessica Wheeler. "This is a movie with a lot of heart and John Cusack fans should be out in force." Based on the award-winning short story of the same title this comedy film features Evanston native and Golden Globe nominee John Cusack and 2 time Academy Award nominee, Joan Cusack. Mr. Cusack plays the role of a widowed science-fiction writer David Gordon, who adopts a 6-year-old boy, Dennis (Bobby Coleman), in an effort to create a family. Dennis, who desperately wants a father, also believes that he's from Mars. Reluctant to accept the advice of his sister (Joan Cusack),  David begins to witness a series of strange events that persuade him that his son's claim just may be true after all. Admission to film screenings is $6 for children and $8 for adults available via Ticketweb at www.cicff.org or (866)468-3401 A complete schedule is available on-line at www.cicff.org or for more information call Tiffany Goodman at (773)281-9075.
