Cannes Cinefondation awards

CINEFONDATION AWARD 2005

In 1998, Gilles Jacob and Pierre Viot created the Cinéfondation to promote the discovery of the new generation of filmmakers. An official selection of school films is therefore presented during the Festival. This year, 18 films from Asia, Europe, North America and South America have been selected from the 1200 submitted.
The Jury presided by Edward Yang and composed of Chantal Akerman, Sylvie Testud, Colin MacCabe and Yousry Nasrallah has awarded prizes to the following films:

1st Prize, unanimous vote of the jury:

- BUY IT NOW
directed by Antonio Campos
NYU Tisch School of the Arts, USA

Joint 2nd Prize, unanimous vote of the jury:

- VDVOYOM (A Deux)
directed by Nikolay Khomeriki
La fémis, France

- BIKUR HOLIM (Visiting Hours)

Tel Aviv University, Israel

Joint 3rd Prize, unanimous vote of the jury:

- LA PLAINE
