BUTFF2012 - Apocalypse: for the weird, the wicked and the bizarre !!

From Wednesday the 5th till Sunday the 9th is it time for already the seventh edition of the BUTFF (B-movie, Underground and Trash Film Festival).

BUTFF2012: Apocalypse! What would you do if the end is coming. In this edition of the festival we are showing you movies about what people would do if there are no limits. Will it be plundering or running to bomb shelters. With a varied film program, music, poetry, art and much more, you can be assured that BUTFF2012 is breaking all boundaries.

First guests confirmed
Guest of honor this year is de Canadian special effects artist Rémy Couture. His pictures and movies are so lifelike that Interpol in 2009 began suspecting him of committing the crimes which are depicted on the pictures and  the movies which he published on his web site. He is coming to Breda with filmmaker Frederick Maheux who has made a documentary about the Interpol charges at Rémy Couture named Art/Crime.  Rémy Couture will do a special effects workshop and some of his photo work will be shown in an exhibition in one of the venues at the BUTFF.

The American photographer, anthropologist, archeologist and 'urban explorer' Bradley L. Garret will be present with his photo's and a short movie. More information about the program, guests and movies will be announced shortly

Openings film will be Hell from Tim Fehlbaum at Wednesday 5 September 2012
In an apocalyptic environment people are suffering from the heat of the sun and trying to survive.

On Saturday there will be a special Belgian day with filmmakers from Belgium present like Rob van Eyk director of Afterman 1 & 2.

BUTFF is expanding
After a successful cooperation last year with the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival, BUTFF will expand this cooperation for the 2012 edition. During the festival there will be a special film program named BUTRR.
The heart of the BUTfestival is, same is last year the courtyard of the Nieuwe Veste. For the first time this year the first floor of the IDFX headquarters (Markendaalseweg 36, Breda) will also be part of the festival. Here there will be reruns of the best of the BUT 2012 movies.

The pub Het Hijgend Hert is this year on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evening also one of the BUTFF places to be with performances, music, poets, art and more.

More BUTnews will follow shortly, so keep a close watch on the web site!

Oh and don't forget, on September 12 at 21:10 the world will end. Don't worry, from 7 till the end we will have a last supper. In case against all odds the world will go one we can have a party afterwards.

We are searching the mass of movies which can be found underneath the A- or even B-movies! A 'shitload' of filmmakers who have no other place to go because they are to stubborn or do stuff that is to strange to behold. Paul Hagenaars, festival director BUTFF
'BUTFF shows something different!'
