Buck 65 to Headline the 27th Atlantic Film Festival Opening Party

Juno award-winning artist Buck 65 will headline the musical entertainment at the 27th Atlantic Film Festival’s NBC Universal Canada’s Opening Night Party on September 13, 2007.

Repeating what’s fast becoming tradition for the Festival, Argyle Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia will shut down to host this star-studded red-carpet event that last year attracted close to 3,000.

Buck 65 is originally from Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia but now lives in France. Last year his single ‘Devil’s Eyes’ won the 2006 Juno award for Video of the Year and his new album ‘Situation’ comes out this September.

“The Opening Night Party launches the Festival’s Inspired Music program, so we are thrilled to have Buck 65 as this year’s headline act," said Executive Director Gregor Ash. "Buck is a incredible local success story whose creativity is emblematic of the talent and innovation that abounds throughout Atlantic Canada."

The NBC Universal Canada Opening Night Party follows the screening of Shake Hands With The Devil the Festival’s opening film.

Tickets to the NBC Universal Canada Opening Night Party are available exclusively online at the Atlantic Film Festival Online Box Office at www.atlanticfilm.com from Thursday, August 2, 2007.

A full schedule of films and events at the 27th Atlantic Film Festival will be announced Wednesday, August 29, 2007 and tickets will be available both online and at the Atlantic Film Festival Box Office sponsored by The Daily News, at 1599 South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia from then.
